Ewe

 The crown jewel of Ewe carving is the miniature Venavi twin figure with distinctive scarification patterns.  The figures are said to contain the spirit of a child in the family who has passed on.  Selective carvers cut these dolls from the soft wood branches of the Kapok tree in Ghana, Togo and Benin.
