Description
Traditional Bamun quiver and arrow set from Cameroon, showcasing the skilled leatherwork and craftsmanship associated with the Bamun people. The quiver is crafted from leather and features decorative geometric detailing, stitched elements, and long leather fringe characteristic of regional hunting equipment and ceremonial objects.
The set includes approximately 20 arrows with wooden shafts and forged metal tips. Historically, arrows of this type were used for hunting and protection, and in some regions could be treated with natural poisons to increase effectiveness.
Both functional and highly decorative, Bamun quivers and arrows are valued today as important ethnographic objects that reflect the artistic traditions, material culture, and hunting practices of Cameroon. The aged leather, hand-forged metalwork, and natural wear contribute to the character and authenticity of the set.
