This carved wooden stool from the Baule people of Côte d'Ivoire features a dynamic composition of a leopard carrying a fish with a rider seated above. The rider and leopard were originally carved as separate components joined by a wooden peg. The peg attachment has been restored and repaired, and the rider has been securely reattached to the leopard. The repair is stable and does not detract from the overall presentation of the piece.
