African Iron Spear with Long Broad Blade, Central African Style

Striking African spear featuring an exceptionally long, slender wooden shaft fitted with a large, hand-forged iron spearhead. The substantial blade is elongated and broad, tapering gradually to a pointed tip, with a distinctive rounded lower section and a circular pierced hole near the base. Subtle linear forging marks and surface variation remain visible across the iron, adding to its aged and utilitarian character.

The spear measures approximately 74 inches in overall length, giving it an impressive scale and presence. The combination of the unusually long shaft and large forged iron blade is characteristic of traditional African spear-making, although the exact ethnic attribution is uncertain based on form alone.

The iron displays an aged, naturally oxidized surface with areas of rust and patination, while the wooden shaft has a dark, weathered appearance consistent with age and use.
