Indigo Striped Textile Dogon or Mossi 61x40inch Mali
Width: 40.5
Description
Beautiful traditional African textile featuring alternating indigo-blue and natural/undyed stripes. The cloth is handwoven in narrow strips and joined together, creating a distinctive striped pattern and subtle variations in the weave and dye characteristic of handmade textiles.
The rich indigo coloration and traditional strip construction give this piece an authentic, timeworn character. Minor variations in color, weave, and texture are consistent with age and hand production.
A wonderful textile for African art collectors, textile enthusiasts, interior design, or display, and equally suitable for framing, draping, or incorporating into a decorative textile collection.
Vintage/antique condition with expected variations and signs of age/use. Please see photographs for details.
We do not recommend laundering textiles, and we do not accept returns of textiles which have been laundered in any manner. Even dry cleaning is too much for some of these antique textiles. For some of them, a very gentle HAND washing (NEVER MACHINE, on any setting) in cool water with a very gentle detergent works, but even then, dyes may not be colorfast and fabric may be less strong than it appears.
