Kancamba Hexagon and Cube Trade Beads Kongo
Description
Strand of early 20th-century Kakamba beads featuring vivid yellow and red glass in layered and striped patterns. There are also red and white cubed and hexagon-shaped trade beads.
Venetian-made for the African trade and widely used in the Kongo region as adornment and currency. Displays light wear consistent with age.
This strand is not intended to be a ready-to-wear necklace. Although the strand can be worn "as is," the string holding it together is not durable and may break with use. For this reason, we recommend that you restring the beads before wearing them.

Bead Size: 5-15mm diameter. See picture with penny for size comparison.
