This backrest, decorated with geometric patterns was made and used by the Kuba. This object is decorated in Kuba style, with complex geometric patterns engraved on the surface. The Northern and Central parts of Congo are known for their beautiful backrest-stool full of wonderful designs.

Everything in this collection was in their home for more than thirty years. Africa Direct recently bought the collection; at 95, Margie wants to share the things she has loved so much.
