Mixed Venetian Trade Beads 32Inch
Description
A striking mixed strand of Venetian trade beads featuring rich red cornaline-style beads paired with classic tabular forms. Handcrafted in Venice and traded throughout Africa during the late 19th to early 20th century, these beads reflect the long history of cross-cultural exchange between European glassmakers and African trading networks.
The strand displays a beautiful variety of shapes, sizes, and tones, with the deep translucent reds of the cornaline beads contrasting against the layered geometric character of the tabular beads. Their worn surfaces and soft patina speak to decades of circulation and use, making the strand both historically significant and visually dynamic.
This strand is not intended to be a ready-to-wear necklace. Although the strand can be worn "as is," the string holding it together is not durable and may break with use. For this reason, we recommend that you restring the beads before wearing them.
