Shipibo-Conibo Textile Amazon Peru 62x59Inch
Width: 59.0
Description
This handwoven textile was created by the Shipibo-Conibo people of the Peruvian Amazon, an Indigenous culture renowned for its intricate geometric designs and rich artistic traditions. Measuring approximately 62 x 59 inches, the textile showcases the distinctive visual language associated with Shipibo-Conibo craftsmanship, with patterns inspired by the natural world and traditional concepts passed down through generations.
Carefully woven and decorated by hand, the textile reflects the creativity and skill of its maker. Variations in color, weave, and pattern are characteristic of handmade works and contribute to the individuality and authenticity of the piece. Shipibo-Conibo textiles have long served both practical and ceremonial purposes and are widely appreciated for their cultural significance and striking aesthetic qualities.
Suitable for use as a wall hanging, table covering, or decorative textile, this piece represents the enduring textile traditions of the Peruvian Amazon and the artistry of the Shipibo-Conibo people.
We do not recommend laundering textiles, and we do not accept returns of textiles which have been laundered in any manner. Even dry cleaning is too much for some of these antique textiles. For some of them, a very gentle HAND washing (NEVER MACHINE, on any setting) in cool water with a very gentle detergent works, but even then, dyes may not be colorfast and fabric may be less strong than it appears.
