Warthog Serving Spoon Set Kenya
Width: 3.5
Description
Wood grain will differ by each set of spoons. Yours will be similar.
A set of wood hand-carved spoons. Made throughout eastern Africa where renewable and sustainable deciduous tree resources are plentiful. The style is imaginative and unique to these east African artists. Being finely crafted by hand from natural materials, no two sets or spoons, however similar, are identical. Carved from a single piece of exotic deciduous wood they range from pale yellow through light brown and in daily use amongst the indigenous people as practiced for centuries. Being hand made some minor imperfections maybe expected. These add to the beauty and uniqueness of the product.
Varieties of non-indigenous trees such as mango, poplar, or saligna gum (Eucalyptus saligna) are used. The sustainable and renewable, soft, fine-grained wood resources are from commercial forests and orchards or tree cutting services.
The spoons show great as dining or kitchen decorative artifacts. Also, look good when used as salad servers.
Care: Should neither crack nor break with normal use. Scratches or minor chips resulting from use may be sanded (fine paper), if necessary, and re-polished. Polish with regular wood oil or polish to maintain luster when used as a decoration and olive oil when used for food. Although microwave and dishwasher proof, the natural wood color fades over time with hot cycle dishwasher and detergents, better with cold-water hand wash and rinse that will extend life and luster. Apply olive to the spoons after rinsing.
