Description
Among the people of West Africa, weaving is performed by men and by women. Weaving varied according to the loom type which means that the loom is a very important component of the weaving technique. Women and men use looms to produce bands of cloth that would be put together to get a large Handwoven cloth. These looms appear in various types and decorations according to local tradition. The shuttle houses the cotton thread which is the most important raw material available in many areas of West Africa. This is a well-used loom with a worn patina on wood.
